Well, one of my new year's resolutions is already on it's way to being completed this summer! This is my new year's resolution to travel! I am going to South Africa to volunteer with cheetah conservation!!! I was looking into study abroad options when I got an email from my school about this volunteer opportunity and it sounded awesome! I could not pass it up! I get to travel to South Africa, help save cheeatas, go on an adventure tour, plus I can get academic credit for it! AHH I'M SO EXCITED :D I will be gone from May 15th to June 12th. The first two weeks will be all volunteer work taking care of cheetahs and then the last two weeks will be an adventure tour filled with fun things like going on safari's, caving, snorkeling and more! I am volunteering for an organization called ISV(International Student Volunteers), they have students come from all around the world to volunteer at places such as Thailand, South Africa, New Zealand.. and etc. ISV has community projects, environmental projects, and animal conservation projects! I am excited to work on the animal conservation project because it will be a new and exciting experience for me! I have not worked with animals that much before but find all kinds of animals to be fascinating! It is an honor to be able to help conserve this amazing species, cheetahs, from going extinct! I will make sure to take a lot of pictures and talk about my experience in my blog when I get back for anyone who is interested!
Here is my project information for anyone who is interested in what I will be doing.
